About the County
Established in 1851, Shelby County is a collection of 15 communities and is home to nearly 12,000 residents. The county is named for General Isaac Shelby, a Revolutionary War veteran. Shelby County is administered by a three-member Board of Supervisors, who are elected to four-year terms. Other elected officials include the Attorney, Auditor, Recorder, Sheriff, and Treasurer.
